Thank you for your interest in renting the Stinson Beach Community Center for your event. Here is some additional information you may find helpful.
Where is Stinson Beach?
Stinson Beach is located on scenic U.S. Highway 1 about a half hour north of San Francisco.
Sounds beautiful! Now when can I visit the center?
We’re delighted that you are considering the Stinson Beach Community Center. Before you schedule a visit, read through this FAQ as well as our Rental Agreement and Rules & Regulations form, then contact us at info@stinsonbeachcommunitycenter.org to set up an appointment.
How much does it cost to rent the center?
- The fee to rent the center (8 a.m.–midnight) is $3,600.
- The payment in full is due 60 days prior to the event.
What does the rental fee include?
Among other things, the fee includes
- basic cleaning after your event;
- use of the center’s tables (eleven 8-foot rectangular tables and twelve 5-foot round tables) and 150 chairs; and
- and an event monitor who is on call the day of your event.
Is there a deposit?
The deposit for the community center hall is $500. We hold on to the deposit to make sure no damage is done to the building. If everything looks good, we send the $500 back after your event.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel at least 6 months prior to your event, you may get a full refund of the deposit.
What is the fee to rent the chapel?
The chapel, which is adjacent to the hall, costs $700 to rent. This fee includes a rehearsal the day before your event.
I’d like to have an event at the center on a Saturday. Is it possible to rent the center for setup and breakdown?
SBCC does not usually book more than one event on the same weekend. Because of this, we offer time on Friday (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) for the setup and Sunday (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) for the breakdown of your event. The fee for each setup or breakdown time slot is $250.
Can I hold my rehearsal dinner at the center?
Rehearsal dinners at the center are considered another event. The fee is $250 per hour. Additional cleaning and event monitor fees will apply.
What are my catering options?
You may use any caterer you want. Here are some local catering options.
You may also bring your own alcohol. If you choose to bring in your own alcohol, let us know as soon as possible so we can discuss guidelines well in advance of your event.
What are the options for music?
We have a new surround sound system and a wireless microphone that allows you to bring your own playlist. You are welcome to have a DJ or a band as well. We also have visual capabilities for a slideshow.
Do I need liability insurance?
Yes. In order to rent the center hall, you need a $1,000,000 one-day certificate of liability that runs about one dollar per guest. Two inexpensive online carriers to consider are www.wedsafe.com and www.rvnuccio.com.
Important: When getting liability insurance, please use the center’s full name of “Stinson Beach Community Center, Inc.” and its street address (32 Belvedere Ave.), not the P.O. box.
